Maroochydore, Queensland, Australia

What do you like best about your sport?
Versatility of it. You can go paddle on any body of water, anywhere on the planet.
How did you get into racing?
I grew up racing in Surf life saving. So when I saw a race advertised I naturally wanted in - the rest is history.
What is the strangest thing that has happened to you while competing?
Seeing a well oversized tiger shark jump in front of me during a recent training session by myself was one of the rawest experiences I’ve had. You're made to feel pretty insignificant on a paddleboard when you see something like that. I turned around and paddled the other way pretty quick!
What are your plans for 2019 and beyond?
In 2018 my goal was to win my first Paddle league world title. However outside of that I have a few major events I’m excited about, such as the Heavywater big wave challenge, and a few projects away from competing that I’m excited to share later this year.
Pushing our personal boundaries.
Who do you admire?
Kai Lenny, an athlete who relentlessly pushes the limits.
Surf life saving, a volunteer life saving service within Australia.
